Yunnan: Gongshan Zizhi Xian: Cikai Zheng. E side of Gaoligong Shan, along the Danzhu He on the road from Nu Jiang at Danzhu to the Myanmar border. Coniferous forest with bamboo and scattered broadleaved deciduous trees. 27°37'34"N, 98°35'15"E; 3400 m.
Growing on steep slope under bamboo in partial shade. Evergreen shrub ca. 0.5 m tall. Leaves brown beneath. Corolla tipped with red changing to salmon and then brown, rest of corolla brownish red. Anthers deep purple.
