Qinghai: Chindu Xian. Valley NE of Xiwu, on the road between Madoi and Yushu. Lower slopes with dense Kobresia dominated turf; steeper upper slopes with open bush land of Salix, Spiraea, etc., often with mosses in shade below them. 33°10'37"N, 97°22'46"E; 3850 m.
Among other shrubs. Shrub to 1 m, rather erect; leaves dark above, pale below, both sides with brown scales; sterile.
