Yunnan: Lushui Xian: Pianma Xiang. Upper slopes of Pianma River, ca. 10 km E of Pianma on the W side of Gaoligong Shan. Deciduous broadleaved forest. 25°59'29"N, 98°39'56"E; 2510 m.
Growing on steep wet bank of stream. N-facing. humus. Base rock: decomposed granite. Slope 10-30°. Spreading tree ca. 20 m tall. Young fruit brownish green. Occasional.
