Yunnan: Tengchong Xian: Wuhe Xiang. Above Dahaoping along the ridge S of Dahaoping Yakou (pass at the border between Tengchong Xian and Longyang Qu), W side of Gaoligong Shan. Subtropical evergreen broadleaved forest. Subtropical evergreen broadleaved forest dominated by Rhododendron, Ilex, Ligustrum, Viburnum and bamboo. 24°55'25"N, 98°45'9"E; 2405 m.
Growing in forest, partial shade. E-facing. Loam. Base rock: granite. Slope 10-30°. Tree ca. 5 m tall. Flowers red, speckled in upper throat. Old fruit brown, young fruit green Common.
