Yunnan: Tengchong Xian: Jietou Xiang. Shaba Cun, Yangjia Shan Jiao. In vicinity of Tiantai Daoist temple, on the W side of Gaoligong Shan. Subtropical evergreen broadleaved forest. Secondary forest with plantation of Taiwania first established 94 years previously. 25°23'59"N, 98°43'41"E; 2300 m.
Growing in evergreen forest on moist slope. SW-facing. Loam. Base rock: limestone. Slope 30-60°. Open shrub. Flowers pale purple. Common.
