Yunnan: Tengchong Xian: Jietou Xiang. Datang Cun. Vicinity of Dahe Linggan, NNE of Datang. W side of Gaoligong Shan. Subtropical evergreen broadleaved forest. Forest dominated by Rhododendron, Sorbus, Quercus, Lyonia, and bamboo. 25°45'19"N, 98°42'4"E; 2430 m.
Growing in thicket. SW-facing. Loam. Base rock: marble. Slope 30-60°. Shrub ca. 2.5 m tall. Flowers white, fragrant. Anthers reddish brown. Persistent calyx pale green flushed with pink. Occasional.
