Clavariadelphus truncatus (Quélet) Donk
Sichuan: Xiangcheng Xian. Yibailingba Gou. Off road from Xiangcheng to Daocheng, ca. 20 km from Xiangcheng. Gorge with steep slopes, running perpendicular to road and tributary of Suoqu He. Vegetation of large Pinus, Abies and Picea and mixed smaller, broadleaved deciduous trees of Acer, Prunus spp., Rhamnus, Sageretia, Syringa, Betula, etc. throughout and large trees of Populus along stream. 29°4'33"N, 99°55'8"E; 3150-3240 m.
On soil under trees dominated by Quercus and Picea. Fruit body unbranched club shaped, to 9.8 cm tall x 1.5-3.5 cm broad, yellowish brown at top of club, surface smooth, becoming paler to whitish toward base. Context pale pinkish. Smell fragrant.
