Armillaria borealis Maxmuller & Korhonen
Sichuan: Xiangcheng Xian. Yibailingba Gou. Off road from Xiangcheng to Daocheng, ca. 20 km from Xiangcheng. Gorge with steep slopes, running perpendicular to road and tributary of Suoqu He. Vegetation of large Pinus, Abies and Picea and mixed smaller, broadleaved deciduous trees of Acer, Prunus spp., Rhamnus, Sageretia, Syringa, Betula, etc. throughout and large trees of Populus along stream. 29°4'33"N, 99°55'8"E; 3150-3240 m.
On soil under trees dominated by Quercus and Picea. Pileus cinnamon brown, 3-9 cm in diam., convex to planoconvex when young, becoming applanate to reflexed when mature, sometimes with an umbonate at center, covered with brown fine squamules. Context cinnamon brown, subadnate. Stipe central, attenuate upward, pinkish. Context pinkish, fragrant.
