Sichuan: Maerkang (Barkam) Xian. Zhegu Shan (between Maerkang (Barkam) and Li Xian) on west side of pass along highway 213. Alpine meadows and Rhododendron thickets along ridge on west side of highway. 31°51'1"N, 102°40'13"E; 4100-4350 m.
Red mycenoid or collybioid fungus, appears to be same as 97-316, pileus less than 40 mm in diam., stipe less than 80 mm x 5 mm, larger fruit bodies have graved stipes, pileus orange red, with lighter discolored patches, stipes hollow at maturity, see photo.
