Cortinarius anomalus (Fries) Fries
Sichuan: Xiangcheng Xian: Reda. Vicinity of the town of Reda. Dry slopes with cut over forest of Quercus, Pinus, Berberis, Cotoneaster. 29°6'11"N, 99°37'55"E; 3450-3650 m.
On ground in forest of Quercus and Picea at 3500 m. Pileus 3-6 cm, convex, dry, brown at disc, becoming brownish gray towards pileal margin. Lamellae first grayish violet, then brown. Stipe 5-8 x 1-1.5 cm, apical region violet, other parts dirty white, with brownish fibrils. Cortina brown. Context white, unchanging; taste mild.
