Hygrophorus agathosmus (Fries) Fries
Sichuan: Xiangcheng Xian. W of Xiangcheng on highway XV09 to Reda Xiang on Reda side of pass over Ma'an Shan. Remnant Picea-Quercus-Prunus-Salix forest and adjacent openings and loose stony slopes; mostly intact Quercus and mixed conifer forests from 3750 m to tree line. 29°2'41"N, 99°42'41"E; 3450-3800 m.
On ground under Quercus sp. at 3500 m. Pileus 3-7 cm in diam., convex, dry, grayish to gray, glabrous or sometimes with brownish squamules. Lamellae decurrent to adnate, distant, white. Stipe 6-8 x 1.2-1.5 cm, white, with white, small squamules. Stipe base slightly swollen. Context white, unchanging. Smell strongly amygdalate. With line drawings.
