Sichuan: Xiangcheng Xian: Reda. Vicinity of the town of Reda. Dry slopes with cut over forest of Quercus, Pinus, Berberis, Cotoneaster. 29°6'11"N, 99°37'55"E; 3450-3650 m.
On ground under Quercus and Picea at 3500 m. Upper part 3-5 cm tall, 2-4 cm wide, white, densely covered with conical brownish squamules. Lower part (stipe) 1-2 x 1-1.5 cm, white, covered with brownish squamules.
