Amanita spissa (aff.) (Fries) P. Kummer
Sichuan: Xiangcheng Xian: Reda. Vicinity of the town of Reda. Dry slopes with cut over forest of Quercus, Pinus, Berberis, Cotoneaster. 29°6'11"N, 99°37'55"E; 3450-3650 m.
On ground under Quercus aquifolioides at 3450 m. Pileus 10.5 cm in diam., convex, gray, sometimes with brownish tinge, densely covered with conical to felty, gray to dark gray volval remnants. Lamellae free, white, ca. 1 cm tall. Stipe 12 x 1.5-2.5 cm, above annulus yellowish, with greenish tinge, below annulus with gray fibrils; bulb 5 x 3 cm, often pinkish. Context white, unchanging; taste mild.
