Amanita nivalis Greville
Sichuan: Xiangcheng Xian. Reda Lincha upstream on Mayi River from the town of Reda. Cut over forests, overgrazed meadows and rock ledges with remnant patches of Quercus, Salix and mixed conifers along Mayi River. 29°8'31"N, 99°38'59"E; 3450-3500 m.
On ground in forest of Quercus, Picea, Salix and Betula at 3550 m. Pileus 5.5 cm in diam., convex to applanate, grayish to pale gray, slightly viscid; margin striate (R=6/27). Lamellae free, white. Stipe 9.0 x 0.8-1.2 cm, white, fibrillose. Volva 4 x 2 cm, white, with yellowish to brownish spots.
