Sichuan: Xiangcheng Xian: Reda. Vicinity of the town of Reda. Dry slopes with cut over forest of Quercus, Pinus, Berberis, Cotoneaster. 29°6'11"N, 99°37'55"E; 3450-3650 m.
On ground under Quercus at 3600 m. Pileus 5-7 cm in diam., convex to applanate, first yellow, with yellow volval remnants, margin smooth, when mature pileus yellow to paler, sometimes with orange to brown tinge at disc, volval remnants becoming grayish yellow, pileal margin often finely striate. Lamellae free, white, edge yellow. Stipe 6-9 x 1-2 cm, densely covered with yellow squamules, becoming hollow; stipe of a young fruit body white or almost so. Bulb often reddish, even when young. Annulus yellow. Context white. With a slide, and drawings.
