Bassecoia bretschneideri (Batalin) B. L. Burtt
Sichuan: Batang Xian. S of Batang (and S of Zhubalong) on road along the Jinsha Jiang (upper Chang Jiang), and S of bridge and road to Mangkang (Markham), Xizang. Steep, dry, rocky slopes with large boulders and numerous outcrops and narrow ravine with small stream emptying into Jinsha Jiang; spinescent shrub community. 29°41'55"N, 99°0'15"E; 2450-2575 m.
Stony slopes and at base of rocks in open. Plants from a massive, hard, woody rootstock; corolla pink. Originally identified as Pterocephalodes bretschneideri (Batalin) V. Mayer & Ehrendorfer (see Carlson et al., Taxon 58: 1075-1091. 2009).
