Grazed meadow along stream, fallow fields, shrub thickets of Berberis, Salix, Potentilla and Spiraea and remnant Picea forests along tributary of Serqu He (Serqu River). 31°54'48"N, 98°48'54"E; 3740 m.
Slope above stream. Scattered. Herbs to 1.5 m tall; petals yellow; fruit green [Notopterygium franchetii H. Boissieu in Flora of China].
