Sichuan: Xiaojin Xian. E of the city of Xiaojin at Meiwo Xiang. Disturbed areas around abandoned cultivated fields, stony slopes above stream with scattered trees and shrubs (Salix, Berberis, Buddleja, Rosa), with Larix and occasional Abies at higher elevations. 30°51'35"N, 102°25'23"E; 3150-3250 m.
Open slope. Shrub 50-60 cm tall; old stems grayish with reddish bristles; young stems greenish yellow with orange bristles; fruit immature, green, turning brown.
