Sichuan: Xiaojin Xian. SE of the city of Xiaojin at Balong Shan on S side of pass. Alpine meadows and scree slopes. 30°55'15"N, 102°53'26"E; 4230-4350 m.
Open area with various herbs. Plants with fetid odor when bruised; sepals green; corolla light blue with purple veins; disc purple; anthers white; stigma white. Initially identified as Codonopsis canescens Nannfeldt.
