Sichuan: Maerkang (Barkam) Xian. SE of the city of Maerkang on highway 317, then on highway 211 to Dangba, village of Yinliang Cun. Thickets and open heavily grazed areas along stream and adjacent slopes with remnant forest with Acer, Betula, Fraxinus, Populus, Salix, Taxus and Pinus. 31°43'52"N, 102°4'19"E; 2365-2870 m.
Thickets along stream and at base of slopes in sun or partial to full shade. Common. Stems to ca. 1 m tall; involucral bracts green; florets creamy white; anthers brown; stigma pale yellow; pappus white or reddish.
