Xizang (Tibet): Mangkang (Markam) Xian. Between Mangkang and the Jinsha Jiang on highway 318, along the Xi Qu (Xi River). Cut over remnant Picea forest on slope with scattered shrubs of Betula, Caragana, Cotoneaster and Rosa. 29°44'28"N, 98°40'51"E; 3600-3650 m.
In open and in shade. Leaf blade abaxially sparsely pubescent to subglabrous; corolla purple, lighter purple at base.
